Turn on, tune in, cop out. Well you'll definitely get the first two with Jimmegee. As for the copping out bit you may be waiting a long time – as Jimmegee explores the dancefloor and the lives that rotate around it. Old enough to have those 80's originals and yet young enough to appreciate the 21st Century twist those same sounds now take, let Jimmygee take you on a trip. Electronically flavoured of course.
Christmas comes but once a year
Saturday, 20 December 2008
I bloody, bloody love Christmas, boys and girls, and you should too. At this time of year, newspapers and blogs are full of ranting old Scrooges moaning about the commercialisation of Christmas or having to spend time with family or an X Factor finalist getting Christmas number one. Well I'm here to redress the balance and tell you all that you shouldn't feel guilty about eating yourself into XXL trousers and tops because it's cold out there and you need the extra layers. And in any case, did nobody tell you that XXL boys are more fun to cuddle up to on the dancefloor?
Embrace the opportunity to give just a few hours out of your busy schedule to the people that actually bleeding well brought you into this fun-filled world in the first place because, believe me, they won't be around forever. Max those credit cards out because you're not actually going to lose your job after all and you deserve all the presents you'll get back in return (and if you don't get any back, buy yourself something fabulous in the sales). And sod getting up in the morning to go to work, just call in sick, nobody will remember by the first week of January because, let’s face it, all bets are off at this time of year.
I do love a bit of Christmas tradition. For me, that means Marks & Spencer Deep Filled mince pies (the Connoisseur just aren’t big enough), smoked salmon on my eggs on Christmas morning, the Radio Times and a Boxing Day walk along Brighton Pier. To top it all off, dancing in a Santa Hat at Brighton’s Wild Fruit’s most laid-back party of the year on the 26th, which sets us off nicely for late-night partying a week later.
Whatever you’re doing, whoever you’re with and whatever dancefloor you’ll be on this Christmas, have a great one, have a safe one and make the most of it. Big love x
