community newsShaky start for Pride fundraisingMonday, 28 September 2009 Brighton Pride's race to raise £50,000 by the end of the year is looking increasingly unlikely to succeed. With five weeks down since the start of the campaign and 15 weeks to go, less than 10% of the total has been raised so far. This means that Pride now needs to raise an eye-watering £3,000 a week from now until the end of the year. If the target is not met the event may now have to be scaled back to match a new, tighter budget in 2010. Whether or not the target is met, the charity will need every penny that can be raised over the next 15 weeks of fundraising events. Everyone is welcome to attend the Pride Feedback Evening on the 6th of October at the Queen's Hotel in Brighton at 6pm. The aim at this meeting will be to open the floor for discussions on every aspect of the festival and charity. Both REALBrighton.com and the Pride website carry up to date details of forthcoming fundraisers, and Pride is also welcoming online donations through their justgiving account. www.brightonpride.com |

Until the scene is recognised as a wider one and ALL people (past and present) are called upon to help, i dont hold out much hope :(
